Installing PostGIS 1.5 on PostgreSQL 8.4 on Ubuntu 9.10

I had a bit of trouble getting the latest postgis to work. 9.10 only has postgis 1.3.5, and I wanted 1.5. Here’s how to get PostGIS 1.5.0 running.
